As part of our School Age program, we currently offer transportation to the following Olathe elementary schools: Arbor Creek, Brougham, Scarborough & Sunnyside, & Priarie Creek- Spring Hill School District. Other schools include: Madison Place and Briarwood. If you do not see your school, rest assured that every effort will be made to accomodate your transportation needs.
At Shining Stars the chidren experience a theme based curriculum. In our younger classrooms the focus is on exposure to the themes and on the processes used to produce classroom creations. In our older classrooms the attention is on: mastery of the themes, small motor skill development and an equal emphasis on process and class work.
The center is licensed through the Kansas Department of Health and Environment. With a maximum capacity of 81 students, we are able to give the families more personal attention. Our classrooms are fully enclosed and offer a great deal of space. Even when a room is at capacity it never feels overcrowded.
Shining Stars is locally owned and operated. As an independent center, any concerns that may arise can be dealt with swiftly. The management team can convene immediately, to begin assessing and ultimately hand down a positve resolution. We appreciate parental feedback, it has proven to been the building block for our continued growth.
The majority of our staff resides in Olathe and other areas of Johnson County. This is especially helpful during the winter months. In our 10 years, we have only had to close for a day and a half, due to snow. We realize that parents seldomly, if ever, get a snow day. Rest assured that we will open on time, when the snow begins to fly, whether it's a trace or several inches. Should the need arise to close, due to weather, we would: alert one of the local news channels, leave a message on the answering machine and post a message on this website.
